Searcher Opt in/out
As explained here, one of the peices of tech Tachibana has from his world is the Searcher System. In canon it was used to detect the energy signatures of Undead and anyone using Undead abilities. With some minor adjustments, Tachibana has adapted it so that it has two major search modes; Open Search which shows all things in the area with an energy signature/aura/etc over a certain level, and Normal Search mode which only shows energy readings in a very specific band. Normal Search will show energy signatures that he has pre programmed in and selected to display.
This is tech that he only really uses in very specific situations; normally when the people who are having their energy monitored/displayed are in the thread/aware of the situation, or when there is a mission of sorts where this has the ability to aid the Traveler's party.
As this can be seen as a huge invasion of privacy, he cannot/will not add a person's energy signature into the system without permission, and by default, people will show up as blank cones, nothing identifiable. Also, people using stealth skills or who repress their natural energies do not show on the Searcher.
In addition, the Searcher has a limited range.normally dependant on the plot need When in Liminal, there's a hell of a lot of interference, so characters would need to be with in functionally visual distance to be able to be detected. More IC detail on that is given in this thread.
If you would like to give permission for your character to show up on the Searcher as identified, please comment here with your characters name, and what color and label you'd like for them. If you would like to deny permission for your character to appear on the Searcher, just post from their account and give their name. Situational: I think when he changes forms (i.e. - becomes a gorgon/hecatite, or a mermaid, or something where it changes his species) then he's not likely to show up on the scanner. Eventually he'll have some stealth magic, hopefully, and when he does something to make himself invisible, that would also make him vanish from the scanner.
